Web 2.o Tools
Why call them Web 2.0?
When the internet first became public it was complex and costly to publish content and remained the realm of big business for a long time. This placed most of us into the role of a consumer of information. However with the decrease in price of technology, and the increase of innovation, common users were given tools that enabled us to contribute to the collective knowledge found online - version 2 of the internet. Any tool that lets you create content and publish online is a Web 2.0 tool. Cloud Computing - the next phase...As the power of the computers that run the internet grows
and broadband increases - Web 2.0 tools will grow in sophistication. Now we can
do more than just post a blog, even edit images and create movies online.
Without installing any software or apps on your device you can use the net to
create media rich and engaging content. We have begun to move beyond consumers
of information, beyond creators of content and into the age of collaborative
cloud computing.
